Here’s a Bed Stuy brownstone that’s loaded with period detail — most notably mantels. At 629 Putnam Avenue in Stuy Heights, the house has got seven of them, including some pretty ornate Queen Anne-type numbers with mirrors, carved wood and Minton-style tiles.

The late Victorian house also sports wedding-cake plaster detailing, inlaid parquet floors, ceiling medallions, crown moldings, wainscoting, and the original newel post and banister.

If this one looks familiar it may be because we featured it as a House of the Day in November 2015. It was being sold by an LLC that bought it in May 2015, and put it back on the market two months later. Nobody bit, and nothing seems to have changed since then, including the price, the photos or the broker.

Now as then, it’s a four-story with an apartment on each floor, and a small extension on the first floor. Overall condition is uncertain — what’s pictured looks to be in fine shape, but there’s plenty that’s not, including any kitchens or baths. In any case, there’s work to be done for anyone who wants to create an owner’s duplex or triplex.

Listed by Ban Leow and Joseph Martinez of Halstead, the house is asking $1.69 million. Apparently that was aiming too high two years ago, but perhaps it’s more in tune with the market this time around. What do you think?
