While bloggers cannot live on links alone, they make a hell of a difference when you’re trying to get a new blog off the ground. With that in mind, we thought we’d provide links to some new, or in some cases merely newish, blogs who have nicely included us in their blogrolls recently and have at least a tangential topical relationship to Brownstoner. We encourage you to check them out.

hi,
if you blog my photo, i’d surely appreciate a comment to let me know you used it.
thanks,

Thanks for the link to my three-day-old blog! I’d better get cracking on posting now that you’re linking. Thanks again.
Thanks for the link to my anti-advertising minor little blog that occasionally has some relevant real estate insight, but mostly rambles on about not being motivated enough to actually pursue my career as an agent. Uh…at any rate…thanks.
What I don’t get is that every time Mary Kay’s name comes up, the gloves come out.
So you either love her or hate her, fine, but there are so many other bottom feeding brokers out there, why don’t people back lash against them.
I certainly don’t think Mary Kay is a bottom feeder. She does have a very successful business.
I think its more people who are Jealous of her and her success.
Folks, frequent references to MKG are a simple result of the fact that she dominates the Vic Flatbush market. That’s an area that we cover so there’s really no way around it. We’ve made a few tongue-in-cheek references to her being the Queen of Victorian Flatbush but that’s all in bloggy good fun and, in part, reflects the fact that, like her or not, she’s something of an institution out there. In the absence of any illegal or unethical activity, we’re certainly not going to ignore a major player in the market and all the listings they have to offer. That would be a disservice to the editorial content on the site.
The second anything gets posted about Mary Kay Gallagher, there is someone that promptly slams either MKG or the poster.
Some troll has the same degree of venom for MKG as that other troll has for PLG and any post about that nab.
We don’t feel attack. Anon’s comment was certainly within the realm of reason and the topic of conflicts of interest is certainly one we need to be aware of. We’d rather have a dialogue about it than have festering suspicions lingering out there in cyberspace. We’ve always tried to be as straightforward about this stuff as possible–but that doesn’t mean readers shouldn’t chime in if they question a decision or if something leaves a bad tast in their mouth.
? and the mysterians…i’m not really sure why you are lashing out at me for simply asking mr. b a question and raising an issue. noone is accusing mr. b of anything or attacking him in anyway, so i’m not sure where you anger comes from. like i said in my second post, it’s just my belief and feeling. last time i checked i am entitled to those beliefs.
i happen to think linking to broker’s websites where there are just RE listings is different than linking (in a separate blog entry) to a broker’s blog where they just toot their own horn…but again, that’s my belief and you can disagree (nicely). sheesh.
mr b:
like I said…your blog and you are certainly free to do as you wish…undoubtedly. I understand where your viewpoint is, but for some reason I believe providing a link to a broker’s website to view their listings is different than providing a link in a blog entry to their own blog , a blog which merely toots their own horn. I may be wrong though.
