Located at 177 82nd Street, this circa 1890s home can be seen with more of its exterior charm intact in the historic tax photo. While a formerly enclosed porch has been replaced with an entrance sheathed in Permastone it still has its Dutch Colonial-style gambrel roof, echoed in some of its neighbors on the tree-lined street. Previously a single-family, a certificate of occupancy shows the house was converted to a two-family in 1964.

Inside, the unit has a living room with a street-facing bay window along with original wood floors with an inlaid border, high ceilings and crown molding. The alcove labeled a dining room on the floor plan doesn’t look quite deep enough for a massive dining table, but it might make a nice study area with plenty of room for bookshelves. A door leads out to the sunroom, which is dominated by the hot tub.

Down the hall, and in between the bedrooms, is the kitchen, which has a fair number of painted wood cabinets, a brown tile backsplash and a windowed nook that could fit a small table.

There are three bedrooms, although only the largest has a closet. It has original wood floors as does the bedroom directly opposite. With French doors opening out onto the driveway it might make a good work-from-home space. It’s at the rear of the apartment and near one of the two full baths.
