The Department of Buildings issued a partial vacate order at 500 4th Avenue, a condo high rise on 4th Avenue built in 2010 by developer Isaac Katan, DNAinfo reported. He lost a suit over construction without the proper permits of a controversial condo tower at 182 15th Street in 2005. Residents of the 4th Avenue building cannot use their balconies because of cracks and a “loose and leaning” fire escape. A caller to 311 on July 7 complained the building was shaking and vibrating, the story said. The 156-unit building between 12th and 13th streets houses a daycare center. A two-bedroom apartment on the 11th floor is currently asking $799,000.
