We got an email asking us if we knew what all the construction on Fulton Street in Clinton Hill was about. We didn’t, so we did some hard-hitting reporting on our way to work yesterday. According to one of the workers who was on a coffee break, they are now removing the old trolley tracks that run down the middle of the street; then they are going to lay a bunch of new water and sewer pipes under the road.
they did give notice for the re-route of the busses–saw a flyer on the 26 awhile back.
trees! that’s all it’ll take to make me happy.

blue: notices went to property owners who then need to share the information with tenants.
Wrong! I have a flyer that I got on Fulton, from the DOB saying that is a 2 years project including trees sidewalk and historical lights…….
that’s cool Shahn.
this project has upset me greatly because they gave the community NO notice, and also the bus lines are rerouted with no notice. the street is effed up and looks like a war zone. i understand work needs to be done but i do feel there should’ve been some notice given, in the form of signs, postings in newspapers, mailings to residents, etc. i feel sorry for people who live RIGHT on Fulton St., and also the businesses on that street.
i do NOT believe they are doing any full-scale improvement on the street, and that information found on Brooklynian was RUMOR, and not substantiated fact.
I heard through Brooklynian that they are also going to repair sidewalks, plant trees and replace street lights with period street lights after the sewer/street work is finished. I like it, the construction is less noisy than the normal traffic and thumping bass from cars, lol.
Maybe they should leave the tracks there and bring back the trolleys.
Its piping to prepare for the onslaught of waste from Atlantic Yards.
Just checking the Brooklyian Clinton Hill message board tells you what it is and that it will take 2 years.
