An initial low ask of $425,000 at this three-story Eastlake-style brownstone at 415 Quincy Street in the heart of Bed Stuy brought more than 100 eager buyers to the first open house and sparked a bidding war. Based on the listing, the house looks to have been in good condition at the time, with a new roof and original details, but in need of a kitchen update and maybe more. After the house was already in contract, Corcoran broker Christine Toes raised the asking price to $550,000 to discourage phone calls because she was getting so many. The house closed in June for $547,000 in an all-cash deal after receiving 18 offers.

Yep, I bid on this one as well. The word on the street was that the original contract fell through after the buyers got the results of the engineering report. I think with the comps and the amount of work, getting a mortgage for over 500K would have been tough. Not surprised it was a cash deal.
