You all sometimes don’t even give a thread a chance of having a real discussion. There are tons of comments on kitchen wallpaper sometimes, and while that not be my cup of tea, someone else might genuinely want to talk about that.
None of the things on this website are about life or death and require commenting, but to suggest that somehow census data and the highest price paid for a home in Park Slope is unworthy because YOU don’t want to talk about it, is really quite rude.
I would have loved to have a real discussion on the census thread, but I’m not going to waste my time writing comments that get lost in 100’s about DILF’S.

no one is saying that you shouldn’t engage in any banter on this site. everyone does it from time to time, and you often crack me up. the concern is that you guys are doing it every day, in multiple threads, with a very high comment volume, and with various look-at-me inside jokes and tangents, all of which in combination make the site less pleasant to read.
please dial it back a couple of notches. i’m sure your fellow users will greatly appreciate it.
