Not to nit-pick, but this is flagged as Fort Greene when it should be flagged as Clinton Hill. It’s almost “Navy Yard” area.

This looks like a case of someone mounting a split vac systems on a load bearing side wall.
New York City will see lots more buildings fall down, with the rate increasing exponentially as time goes on.
Most of the brick and mortar tenement buildings in this city were not intended to last over a hundred years.
The idiotic rent control/stabilization laws are largely to blame for our detiorating housing stock because since WWII it’s been nearly impossible to vacate old buildings in order build new ones. . .
Looks like water damage given the staining below the hole.
That doesn’t look good. Did that fan use to be in that hole?
