Closing Bell: Arson in Sunnyside Gardens

A tipster sent in the above photo with word of a fire this weekend in Sunnyside Gardens: “Woke up this morning to the sound of this car on fire across the street in my neighbor’s driveway. Absolutely terrifying! I live in Sunnyside Gardens on 49th Street. Not sure what happened, though another neighbor is convinced he heard the ‘arsonists’ talking before the explosion.” The Sunnyside Post reports that an unknown arsonist set four fires around 49th and 50th Streets this weekend. The arsonist set fire to some trash, a garbage can, a car, and a spot outside of Donato’s Restaurant & Pizzeria. According to the Sunnyside Post, “The police believe that all the incidents are connected and are looking for a light-skinned male.”
