A new Business Recovery Center, run by the US Small Business Administration, has opened in LIC. There, business owners can talk to SBA customer service representatives and ask questions about the disaster loan program, as well as get help in completing applications to apply for a disaster business loan. If your business has sustained physical damages or loss of revenue from Hurricane Sandy, this center is for you.

The location of the Business Recovery Center and its hours (which will continue as needed) is as follows:

LaGuardia Community College/CUNY
30-20 Thomson Avenue, Suite BA02
Long Island City, NY 11101 (GMAP)

Hours: Weekdays 9am-5pm; Saturdays, 1-5pm; closed on Sundays

If getting to this Business Recovery Center is not possible, one can also apply for a loan electronically.

For those that download the application (from sba.gov) and fill it out manually, send it to the following address:

U.S. Small Business Administration
Processing and Disbursement Center
14925 Kingsport Road
Fort Worth, TX 76155

The SBA customer service center is reachable at 800-659-2955 (800-877-8339 for the deaf and hard-of-hearing) or by sending an email to disastercustomerservice@sba.gov.

There are some filing deadlines for applications:

Applications for physical property damage are due December 31, 2012.
Applications for economic injury are due July 31, 2013.
