Long Island City’s tech community keeps growing in various directions, and one of those trajectories is tech education, currently taking the form of classes for those looking to learn more about the work of developers and designers. The Coalition for Queens, a “nonprofit organization fostering a tech ecosystem in the borough of Queens” has partnered with Skillshare, LaGuardia Community College, and General Assembly to bring these tech classes/courses to Western Queens as part of their ongoing education program. Leaders in the NYC tech community and successful entrepreneurs will be doing the teaching.
There are two classes and one course:
- Web Programming Concepts for Non-Programmers, Wednesday, September 12th, 2012, 7:30-9pm | $35
- From Concept to Product: Intro to Adobe Illustrator, Monday, September 24th, 2012, 7:30-9pm | $25
- Front-End Web Development at LaGuardia (10 week course), Tuesday, September 11th, 2012 (repeats every Tuesday and Thursday until 11/15/2012 ), 6-9pm | $3000
