Happy Monday, everyone! The start of the week brings us a food tasting, a vocal recital, and a concert of Latin Jazz.

Taste of Sunnyside 3 – Tonight is the Taste of Sunnyside, now in its third year. Head to this charming Queens neighborhood to sample Japanese, Mexican, French, Italian, Thai, Filipino, American, and Irish food from restaurants around the neighborhood. You can purchase tickets ($25) online at Taste of Sunnyside website, or in person at the BID office located at 45-56 43rd Street (GMAP). There are two sessions this evening: 5 pm – 6:30pm and 7:15-8:45pm.

Classical Vocal Recital – Lesley Zlabinger, Soprano and Catherine Fran, Piano – Classical music makes a stop in the Jamaica-based Jazz at the Chapel concert series with a vocal recital by Lesley Zlabinger (soprano) accompanied by Catherine Frank (piano). They’ll be performing some of the greatest works in the classical vocal literature, including the song cycle Frauenliebe und-leben by Robert Schumann; the secular cantata Lucrezia by G.F. Handel; and four songs by Mozart – Ridente la calma, Warnung, Als luise die briefe, and An chloe. Music starts at 7pm and admission is free.

Arturo O’Farrill Latin Jazz Quartet – Wednesday afternoon brings us the Afro Cuban Jazz stylings of the Arturo O’Farril quartet. This Grammy-winning pianist, composer, and educator brings his quartet to the Queensborough College Main stage in Bayside for an session of great Latin Jazz. This concert is free!
