Harper’s Ferry Day – There’s some serious (well, more serious than usual) pig roasting action going down at John Brown Smokehouse tonight. They are honoring “one of the most badass events in American History, the raid on Harper’s Ferry.” To commemorate this, they will be smoking a 200 lb heritage breed, pastured, and organic hog, fresh from Tamarack Valley Farm in Vermont.

Live music will also be part of the evening, including the stylings of the Red Hook Ramblers, Blind Boy Paxton, and Trainwreck Washington. Drink specials all through the day. $20 gets you all the pork you can eat (beer, wine and sides are extra). Eatin’ starts at 5pm (or whenever the 200 lb pig is done to perfection).
