Listing of the Day: 42-42 27th Street

We had our hopes up for this listing at 42-42 27th Street in Long Island City based upon our first glance at the facade: Finally a house on the market in Queens that might have some beautiful original detail! But no. If we’d looked closer we would have seen the odd brick stoop that someone added on at some point that would have been more indicative of the interiors, which, while perfectly fine, turned out to be also be perfectly bland. No moldings, old fireplaces or clawfoot tubs here. The two-family pad does have a backyard and is close to the Court Square G train and the Queens Plaza E, M and R trains. Asking price: $1,195,000.
