We were pretty happy to see this piece on beer in Queens from Time Out New York – places where you can drink it and places that brew it. It’s pretty heavily weighted on the western Queens side, where a lot of the micro/craft brew action is happening. On the drinking side, there’s Astoria Bier and Cheese – we were just in there the other night and it’s a really great space with really delicious beer; The Strand Smokehouse, who just got a new Executive Chef; and opendoor in LIC – Juan from beer-loving Sunswick is part of this endeavor.

Then there are the breweries – SingleCut Beersmiths, of course, which also has a drinking element in its tap room, and by they way, they are hiring for a tap room kitchen manager; Rockaway Brewing Company in LIC; nano-brewery Bridge and Tunnel; kombucha brewery Beyond Kombucha.

As for the breweries, TONY did a great job with the roundup – it’s so great to see all these breweries pop up Astoria and LIC. As for the places to drink beer, we’re glad they mentioned The Queens Kickshaw, Alewife, and Sunswick. And it’s hard to talk about beer in Queens without highlighting the Bohemian Beer Garden, one of the most well known and beloved spots in all of Queens, and for a long time one of the best places to get a beer.

Are there other spots in the borough you’d recommend to a beer lover? Let us know in the comments or via twitter at @queensnycity.
