Now, the Zagat rated restaurant is up for sale. Well, actually the Donovan’s building is up for sale with an option, reports the Times Newsweekly, for the buyer to also purchase the restaurant and continue to operate it. Commerical real estate company Massay Knakal has the 6300 square foot building listed at $3,200,000.
The reasons for the sale, according to the Times Newsweekly, are that the restaurant’s owner is looking to retire and that “changing demographics have affected business.”
We’ll let New York Magazine know that it might be time to reconsider its profiles of both Donovan’s and Woodside: “Queens is slowly evolving, Woodside even more slowly. Donovan’s Pub is not changing at all, and that’s the way its fiercely loyal patrons like it.”
