I’ve made a similar comment here before, but I’ll try again.
I’m very surprised that Brownstoner Queens hasn’t had more coverage of the upcoming Mumford and Sons concert at the Forest Hills stadium (the concert will be tomorrow at 6:00pm and is sold out). This is a major event for Queens, as the FH stadium has not had a concert in the last 16 years. It is a major story for Queens that there is now a plan to preserve and renovate the FH stadium. A couple of years ago, there was serious talk of tearing down the stadium and building condos. If the preservation plan succeeds, it will be a major victory for Forest Hills and all of Queens because the stadium is a very important part of the history of tennis and music (in the 60s, the Beatles, Rolling Stones and the Who played there, among many other music legends).
Because of the importance of this story, I would have expected Brownstoner Queens to provide a lot of in-depth coverage of the upcoming concert and of the plan to preserve the stadium. Instead, all I have seen her are a couple of links to news articles (including the link to the WSJ article posted above).
