Slightly under-the-radar pizzeria and Italian restaurant Forno Italia in Astoria are in the middle of some changes. According to a tweet by Adam Kuban, they are under new management and doing some renovations. According to the DOB, they are also going to replace the storefront.
Late to this, Astoria, but I passed by Forno Italia the other week and saw it’s being renovated and “under new management” [attn: @remydwd]

The pizzas are tasty.
Brick oven pizza has really become popular in Astoria – there’s Basil Brick Oven Pizza whose popularity grew so quickly they expanded into space at least twice the original size and added a little cafe. Via Trenta (GMAP) is still going strong and making excellent pizza. Tufino Napoletana Pizzeria is poised to open, too – Hurricane Sandy delayed them a bit, but they hope to be up and running very soon.
