This guy is always plotting something. David Gonzalez has a few talents: storytelling, music, poetry, acting, writing, humor. This recipient of the 2011 International Performing Arts for Youth Lifetime Achievement Award has created countless stage productions related to well-known stories of love, hope, courage and wisdom. He implements his “Confluence Model of Storytelling” in which communication, language, voice, gesture and imagination are considered independent rivers which flow together. On March 10, Gonzalez brings his version of Sleeping Beauty to Flushing Town Hall. Presented in rhymed verse spin, this classic fairy tale is enhanced by live music by pianist Daniel Kelly and projected images that create a groovy multimedia world in which our beautiful and funky princess is awakened by a true love’s kiss – or not.
