One of our favorite urban photographers, Nathan Kensinger, is presenting in a group show at St. John’s University called “Silent Beaches, Untold Stories: New York City’s Forgotten Waterfront.” The exhibit includes Kensinger’s photographs from the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy and many other of his waterfront shots. The exhibit also includes maps, documents, artifacts, prints, drawings, film, and interactive displays on waterfront locations in College Point, The Rockaways, Dead Horse Bay and others. It opened at the beginning of this month, but the opening reception will be held on September 19th from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. The exhibit will be on display until November 9th.
