Thanks so much for mentioning that Bob! I didn't hear anything about it, but will keep it in mind for next year!
PLG House Tour Is This Weekend as Newsletter Goes Up OnlineI just found out that there was another tour in June 1st. The Victorian Flatbush tour resumed after a very long hiatus. It’s a shame that it was the same day as our tour and that it was not publicized. If it continues next year I hope we can coordinate dstes to avoid conflicts.
PLG House Tour Is This Weekend as Newsletter Goes Up OnlineThanks for this comment Cate. I’m glad that we had a chance to chat during the tour. I was stationed in my next door neighbor’s house. i anticipated a beautiful renovation because it took about a year and a half, but the result was beyond anything I’d imagined. They moved walls around, but reused most of the original woodwork. The roof deck and the nee, but original-looking staircase are fantastic and I couldn’t believe what they did with the cellar.
PLG House Tour Is This Weekend as Newsletter Goes Up OnlineTour was terrific and chatted with lots of people. Many fun wallpapers, immaculate cellars, beautiful gardens, original detail, and inspiring updates. A beautifully decorated apartment was a trove of ideas. Other notions included a flexible hanging door screen to keep out bugs, a new flight of stairs to create a walk-out roof deck, and a modernized floor plan with new parlor kitchen that looked original thanks to graceful plaster arches and other moldings borrowed from elsewhere in the house. Lefferts Lounge was relaxing with live music, lots to eat, and people to talk with.
