Worry not, those who love ice cream in cold weather: gelato’s still on the menu, too. GMAP
I’m still holding off with our furnace. My reasoning is that I will get used to the cold and won’t be so tempted to crank it when it gets really cold. Wish me luck!!!
They will have Hale & Hearty soups, which are very good. They will also continue with their approximately 10 homemade gelato flavors.
My furnace is on.
Bob: I won’t weigh in on tenants vs. wives!!! 🙂
My gas forced air looks to be about 20 years old and works fine. Efficiency??? No idea. I also need to get my ducts in the basement wrapped. Know anybody that will do a small job like that???
I had my crawl space insulated last year by federal Conservation…highly recommend them.
Dave,
One of the advantages of a single-family house [and therefore, of Lefferts Manor] is not having to answer to tenants. However, when my wife starts to complain, it’s time to clean the filter and get out the oil can. I always hold my breath waiting for the gas to ignite and the fan to start, but the old Lennox beast [ten years old when I bought my house, way back when] hasn’t failed me yet.
Bob…I’m suffering from a headcold this week so I actually turned mine on as well. I was fearing that I’d get a call all last weekend from my tenants who might be cold and I was away!!
And I put on the flannel sheets. TMI?
Sounds good–it got cold fast.
On a related note, I just gave in and turned my furnace on. I try to wait util Nov. 1, but I seldom make it.
BTW, I’ve had cock-a-leekie soup AND haggis, even though I have absolutely no Scottish connection 🙂
I live around the corner and was so excited when I saw the sign had changed. What a good idea! Talk about finding a niche and filling it every season. Haven’t tried the soup yet. The hours are hard as I leave home in the morning and usually don’t get home until after 9pm but if I were coming off that subway at 6pm without dinner ideas you better believe I’d be souping it up! I hope it’s not super expensive. Super expensive soup can be kind of a downer.
Yes, I think I remember you get all hot and bothered by the Brighton beach chica!!!!
I think we eat at the same restaurants but chose different items.
