Brooklyn not only feels like a movie set, it also hosts a whole spectrum of film festivals, including this year’s sixth annual Williamsburg Independent Film Festival.

Opening Thursday, November 19, the festival will showcase independent films from around the globe, with a core focus on Williamsburg and Brooklyn.

Both emerging and established filmmakers are on the agenda, the festival having received more than 220 entries from more than 25 different countries. The festival will take place through November 22 at the Cinema at the Wythe Hotel, 80 Wythe Avenue at N. 11th Street.

In addition to screenings of short films, documentaries and full-length features, the festival will also feature several film premieres.

Tickets, which cost $15 per day, are available online.
