We were checking in with perennial fave Forgotten NY last night when we came across a recent entry on Long Island City. Granted we haven’t logged in much time in Queens, but the photos of the brownstone blocks in Hunters Point Historic District blew us away. This shot of 45th Avenue makes it easy to understand why this block has been landmarked. At the risk of losing our Brooklyn focus for a moment, can anyone clue us in to other pockets of brownstone beauty in Queens?

Not a lot of brownstones, but some giant victorian houses in Richmond Hill, near Forest Park. Check out:

hunter’s point historic district is fairly limited, but quite charming. there was a house on the market a few months back for about $1.2MM or so. it’s a shame to see the 7 train cuts right through the area- there are some brick row houses with windows literally feet away from the tracks.
not exactly brownstone central in queens, but some great other finds in certain areas: jackson heights, ridgewood, etc.
