City Line: Brooklyn-Queens [Forgotten NY]
Does anyone know of a map that clearly shows the street-by-street border of Brooklyn and Queens, especially around the Bushwick area?
What a shame to see how much this area went downhill. I sure was lucky to grow up on this street (84 Eldert Ln) My last visit to the area in 2004 really saddened me. I never thought that I would not feel safe on the street where I was born and raised. FK Lane was at one time amongst the best i the city. Thanks for the memories.
You should visit Queens, if you are basing your “not cool” judgement on a past visit. Astoria and Jackson Heights are two of the most up and coming areas in New York City, in my opinion. Great restaurants and some beautiful houses and apartments that are still cheap. Sure, there’s some tacky stuff, but you can certainly find that in Brooklyn, too.
Is that a for sale sign hanging off the first house on the right?
I’d consider living on the side in Brooklyn, but Queens is another story. It’s just not cool.
