Hm. I must be eating someplace else than all these other people. I haven’t had good food OR good service yet at the new Sweetwater’s, and I’ve given it more than one chance. Burnt food every time and once a dismissive server (and I was being very polite) who hardly apologized after my lady friend and I waited just over an hour for our meal to arrive!
to add to my comment, the reviewer just says duh of course juniors has the best cheesecake. nothing like really checking out the competition.
best cheesecake is bay ridge cakes/bakery. i believe its around 79th street and 5th avenue. actually all their cakes are good and cheap. bought a 7 layer for 15 bucks would have been double that and 2 little hens on park slope. with all the money you save versus juniors you could make a down payment on a brownstone. ps- i agree, juniors highly overated
Juniors SUCKS. Im with you on the overhyped buzz, but I broke down and tried it anyway. Its VERY heavy, nothing special. I dont get it.
Junior’s Cheesecake IS that good. Give it a try. There’s a Junior’s in Grand Central if you work in that area.
I remember the old Sweetwater days, listening to “Borstal Breakout” while sipping Red Stripes. Now there’s a wine rack where the juke used to be. Still, I love the new Sweetwater. Delicious food and good service.
I guess its a sign of the times – six or seven years ago Sweetwater was NYP’s best post-punk outpost. You know, back when you had to look for a place to drink in Williamsburg…
Is Junior’s cheesecake really that good? It gets so much press. I’m always skeptical of over-hyped things.
