This three-bedroom brownstone duplex is yet another beautifully renovated and pricey Bed Stuy pad. The 1,500-square-foot apartment has an eat-in kitchen with a decorative marble mantel, pretty woodwork, a dishwasher and a wine rack. The bathroom also features an original claw foot tub and attractive blue patterned tile.

There is basement storage and a washer/dryer. The G train is half a block away at Classon Avenue.

Incidentally, the building was a House of the Day when it was for sale in 2013, and configured differently. We do see a potential deal breaker, though: The bathroom and the bedrooms are on separate floors.

What’s your opinion of it for $4,000 a month?

  1. My Husband & I looked at Duplex in Stuyvesant Heights over the weekend and for about the same price you can you can get a 3BED 2.5BATH which was fully gut renovated on Hancock & Lewis (listed with Corcoran)

  2. No offense, but this house is opposite Lafayette Gardens, the location of regular gunfire and gang violence. While there are plenty of law abiding citizens living in the Gardens, Lafayette isn’t wide enough to stop a bullet. Any “family with young kids” that can afford this rent, does some research, and has other options could be expected to stay away.

  3. The target audience for a place like this is a family with young kids. But if you’re renting, why not rent in an area with a great school? For example, our old 3 bedroom/2 bath duplex just rented for $3400 and its zoned for PS29.

Unless maybe your kids are older and/or already in a good school and you’re moving for more space,. Or you just want to live in a brownstone?

  4. My house looks similar to this- narrow houses are difficult but why such a big pantry and a full bath on the main floor? Would have been better to get rid of the pantry and have a half bath with a bigger kitchen. And a full bath downstairs instead of the walk-in closet or 3rd bedroom.
And these houses are way too narrow to comfortably squeeze three bedrooms on one floor.
