A reader sent in this apocalyptic screen shot from the upcoming Will Smith movie I Am Legend. The big question is, however, how much will the cabanas at 70 Washington be worth at this point?

  1. Speaking of NY apocalyptic movies, can anyone still watch Escape From Mew York” where the President’s (the great Donald Pleasence) plane crashes into one of the Twin Towers? I can’t.

  2. New flash! Frustrated with the ever rising prices of vintage brownstones and bland cookie cutter glass box new condos due to Manhattan transplants “discovering” the charms of Brooklyn (the fourth largest city if it were a city), a militant group of neighborhood preservationists demolished all transportation links connecting the two boroughs, including the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. The group was lead by a former green beret, navy seal, army commando and real estate agent who kept muttering “I kept telling everyone that someday this war’s gonna end and it did. I ended it! Serves those beautiful home envying sub-prime borrowing f____ers right. Now I can finally buy that clocktower penthouse at One Hanson”

  3. Yeah, Brenda from Flatbush, I’m with you. Images–and movies–like this just make me queasy. They’re neither thought-provoking (as, for instance, serious art or writing on the subject might be), nor are they satisfying escapist entertainment (as this genre of movie should be). Guess I’m a wimp too…
