Clinton Hill House Tour Report: Part I

Boo! Blogger Lesterhead answered our plea for photo documentation with a lengthy posting of her own. What jumped out at us from her pictures (other than one resident of 312 Clinton Avenue’s obsession with the macabre) was the fact that most of the houses had much more modern interiors than we would have expected. Interesting, but not surprising. We’d be curious to see some more pics of architectural details–moldings, bannisters, wood paneling–if anyone’s got ’em.

312 Clinton belongs to my friend Janna and her husband so I was excited to see it featured, but I’m admittedly disappointed by the photos! Janna and Randy were former renters in the building and purchased it from their landlord before his passing only a few years ago. They did EXTENSIVE renovations, preserving most if not all original detail, before taking over a garden/parlor duplex and condo-ing the top floors. Their renovations and restorations – though not fully-realized in Lesterhead’s photos– are nothing short of spectacular.
well, i’m glad you posted these pics, at least i got to see some houses… since i pre-bought a ticket beforehand and didn’t even go…
thanks!
