The most viral story of the day yesterday was without question the one about the empty Bushwick lot being turned into a hipster trailer park. “There’s no affordable private space for artists to create art together, so now it’s come to campers in warehouses,” cofounder Hayden Cummings told Rented Spaces. There are currently six intrepid campers calling the trailer park home, but that number is expected to rise to more than 25 come springtime. There’s a video of the indoor portion of the space here. Each to his own.

Frownstoners.
so what is your point fsrq….you like living without the freedoms we had in 1980?… which is when I got here. Living in Fort Green was no piece of cake. You my friend are the amateur and a bitter one at that. At least I will sleep good tonight knowing I got under the skin of a know it all fool.
Tax debt on vox pop is something like $56k. New owner didn’t amass the debt but assumed it.
Tornado bait, trailer park, white trash.
What makes these people artists?
What makes this hipster? I don’t get. I’m from Tennessee…it’s a trailer park. You guys hate on the projects, but trailer parks are hipster? Funny.
not sure that artists and hipsters are interchangeable people. i know several artists with spaces in bushwick and more than a few are over 40. artists just need space, and this area provides that and a community. there are also photo spaces there for commercial shoots (for money even!)
meanwhile, in related news, 20 somethings are renting like crazy in bushwick because of the prices. some are hipsters, some are just looking for a roof over their heads.
SNAPPY – might not be the cheese. my parents’ yahoo group says that the stomach flu has been raging for the last week. hate to see anyone give up ricotta – too sad.
but back to the trailers- funny and great. it is nice to see some craziness that’s not hurting anyone and is helping people.
