With all the attention and discussion surrounding Crown Heights on the site recently, we thought this would be a good time to direct your attention to the Bridge and Tunnel Club’s photographic tour of New York Avenue, which includes this beautiful corner Mansion with side entrance. This reminds us of our GC’s house in Stuyvesant Heights. Lovely.

  1. Obviously it was tongue-in-cheek. I think the best method for dealing with the numerous posters who clearly have huge chips on their shoulders about anything gentrification related is to just ignore the bait an maintain a courteous blog.

  2. yes mr. 12:10 anonymous, you really have your pulse on whats hot. Obviously since brownstoner has put up crown heights pics on his site it has just now been discovered by the bougie elite and is being bought out……obviously you dont live in either neighborhood that you are comparing, and just want to assume that everyone that shows interest in the architecture of either is a gentrifier. Get more complex ideas before you post…please

  3. Yes, thats my hood and one of my main aves, the others being brooklyn, which is just as beautiful as new york; nostrand, which needs just a little revitilization a la myrtle ave style, and kingston, which is just ripe for some interesting commercial ventures, in my book.

One thing that Crown Heights has going for it that stuy heights does not, is access to more bodegas, supermarkets, and transportation. Stuy heights has some more trendy stuff going on but otherwise I would rate them comparable neighborhoods.

  4. Thanks, Brownstoner, for this great link. I read this site daily for its insider glimpse into Brownstone Brooklyn, and despite the vitriol that sometimes finds its way into the posts I really enjoy the site and appreciate what you’re doing here.
