It’s gonna be a big week on the Renovation blog. Spent a couple hours walking through the house with our GC and got lots of pics and news to upload. First thang is a shot of this unusual pattern in the Basement parquet floor that had heretofore been buried under a couple layers of wall-to-wall carpet. The Stoner is pleased with this discovery, very pleased.
Surprise Parquet Floor [Renovation Blog]
i just found the same in my new house any tips for restoring it to former glory please?
What a wonderful discovery!
Really enjoy the site and like watching your progress. Nice to see people renovating and caring for old buildings with an idea of the integrity of the place. I’ve seen some horrendous, corner-cutting jobs out there being sold under the guise of “fully renovated” on web sites & open houses. Something I’ve seen a lot of is really poorly designed new kitchens-there’s one on warren lewis’ site (brick Kensington 1-family) with all the appliances on one wall right next to each other, with no counter space in between. check it out- clearly designed by people who have never cooked a meal.
good luck on your project-looking forward with interest to your progress.
