It’s been pretty quiet over in the architectural salvage section of the Brooklyn Record bulletin boards. Until yesterday, that is. A Brooklyn Heights reader is looking to find a home for her wood mantel and mirror; no date provided. The piece is roughly five feet wide by six feet high. The price is an entirely reasonable $1,000. If interested, contact ladelpuerto aaat ladplaw dddot com. Got some architectural pieces you need to get rid of? Post ’em on the boards. Some of the sweet stuff will find its way here.
Antique Wood Mantel For Sale [BR Boards]
It’s in the works. More soon.
Actually, I probably would spend all my money on everyone elses’ stuff. Oooo, can’t wait!
I second donatella’s post, and have same.
Maybe there is a parking lot or empty lot available for rent somewhere central for a summer Saturday or Sunday. I would consider it money well spent to pay a percentage to Mr. B. for the rental space, and the chance to sell something, and even if I have to pay to haul my stuff to the fair, it would be out of my house, in the hands of someone who wants it, and hopefully some money in my pocket. Meeting a lot of the regulars and fellow brownstoners would be great too. I hope you can put this together.
Mr. B — Re: Salvage fair, I have lots of stuff from my renovation – extras, things purchased that I changed mind on, things I removed, collected etc. Also, there are things I still need… I am sure I am not alone – the fair is a dynamite idea!
Bathgirl, as mentioned here, you can post it on the brooklyn record boards or just put it on craigslist. People aren’t willing to pay too much for them if they have to pick them up themselves.
Careful posting peoples’ emails out in the open like that.
Spambot address harvesters crawl the web for exposed addresses, and posting a person’s address out in the open such as the above will likely result in that person now receiving hundreds of new daily spam messages.
Best to post via an obfuscated email address in a manner such as the following:

The encoding parses correctly in browsers, but are ignored as utter garbage by spambot harvesters.
I just bought a house that has an old clawfoot tub. I am not looking to keep it. Any ideas on where to sell it? (It is not in a great condition)
nope. haven’t had a second. hopefully soon though!
Mr. B, any details on your salvage fair?
