As The Local reported yesterday, 489 Myrtle Avenue has been repaired and is now ready for tenants. The building was badly damaged after the collapse of 493 Myrtle Avenue two years ago, which also damaged 491 Myrtle. In the past two years, the building was stabilized, then suffered from a roof collapse, legal troubles, and finally saw an extensive reno. According to The Local, “In addition to stabilizing the wall, they also fixed the plumbing, the roof and the joists, which support the building. They also updated the apartment: they installed tile floors in the bathrooms, oak floors and kitchen cabinets, and new fixtures.” One previous tenant has moved back in, while another two-bedroom in the building was put on the rental market for $1,900 a month.
