The proposed renovation of 227 Clinton, which we covered way back when it was battling the CB6 Landmarks and Land Use Committee (the story was later picked up by the Brooklyn Paper), came before the LPC last week. It looks like CB6 convinced the architects to ditch the original plans for an all-glass, two-story tea room as well as the four extra, Norah Jones-style windows before their LPC hearing. They ultimately petitioned for alterations to the roof and areaway, enlarged window openings, and excavating the rear yard for a swimming pool. These requests were all approved by the LPC. At least they got the swimming pool!

  1. What is it with this pool trend? Did the borough of Brooklyn just relocate to LA? I just can’t imagine people who probably have houses in the Hamptons and elsewhere lolling around their backyard pool in Brooklyn?

  2. I bet there are a lot of CB6 members who I’d never want to have a drink with. Why can’t they do in their yard (the tea room) whatever they please????

And, they should have gotten the side windows.
