  1. Ms Jones’ celeb status aside, about which I could care less, I find the whole process of removing parts of a brick wall and installing windows to be interesting. Her contractors are doing an amazing job, the windows look as if they’ve always been there. THAT’S why the LPC approved it, the windows are totally contextural, and she can afford to have masters of the craft do the job. The neighbors should be glad she can afford to have the best job done, quickly and beautifully. Now it really seems much ado about nothing.

  2. If someone wants to see a really bad butchering of a brownstone in a landmarked area, check out 109 Gates Avenue on the Brooklyn Properties website. And don’t just look at the retouched pictures, have a look on the streetview. Unbelievably sad, a completely rotten piece of work. The owner and the contractor should be tarred and feathered.
