top_angel_sky-1209.jpgSeems like everybody’s got a blog these days. Among the legions you can now count the Green-wood Cemetery. Or, to be more exact, the official historian of Green-Wood Cemetery, Jeff Richman. From his introductory post on the Green-Wood Discovery blog, “Whether it’s a story of a new discovery, a new planting, or a recent restoration of a monument, you will find news of it here.” Although the blog officially launched this week, Jeff has been blogging behind the scenes for a few weeks, so there are a bunch of posts in the archives to comb through.

  1. Love the blog, just browsing gave me some information I never knew about mid 19th century African Americans buried in Green-Wood. I’ve got to find time to get over there again. It is one of my favorite places, too.

  2. it’s shockingly weird how little satanic worshipping goes on brooklyn and nyc in general when it comes to cemetaries. i would think it would be a hotbed, but apparently not! is it cuz of the cops and stuff?

  3. COOL!!!
I’ve bookmarked it as a favorite.

I luv luv Green-wood, one of my favorite places in Brooklyn. I can’t wait for a snow fall, it’s so beautiful and serene. One of my favorite sites is from the top of one of the hills looking down at the roofs of mausoleums, that are tucked into the hills, covered in snow.
