The Brooklyn Academy of Music received a $1 million grant to create the Leon Levy BAM Digital Archive, a public compilation of BAM’s archival holdings. This is the first opportunity BAM has had to make the BAM Hamm Archives public, with the Leon Levy Foundation giving the grant to do so. The curated online selection will include everything from Civil War memorabilia to institutional correspondence with important artists of the 20th Century. The digitization process, which will compile all the info into a publicly accessible and searchable format, should be complete by the spring of 2015.
