367 Clermont
We’ve been admiring this grand 4-story building on the corner of Clermont and Greene in Fort Greene for some time now, but only just got around to trying to research it. A check of our two favorite sources on this kind of thing, Charles Lockwood and Francis Morrone, came up empty-handed. From Property Shark we learned that 367 Clermont, a 15,750-square-foot building on a 75’x100′ lot, has been owned by the Roman Catholic Church since at least 1991. Before that, it looks like the City had possession. All you developers out there take note: There’s another 2,500 square feet of unused FAR. Could make a sweet penthouse for the local Monsignor! Property Shark says the building was built in 1948. Can that be right? Any local history buffs know more?

  1. This is part of a group of bldgs that house members of the Roman Catholic Archdiocease of Brooklyn & Queens (cross w/ white cloth on Greene Ave side of bldg ). Note Queen of All Saints Church 1 block over, Bishop Loughlin High School nearby.

  2. here is a building just Screaming to be developed. at 75,000 square feet on a 232 x 254 lot. It used to be a bakery and now a discount warehouse selling dollar items. Not sure what kind of lease this place has. The owner is Alber Ibraham in Manhattan 774 Broadway. This building is across the street from Prospect Park and Botanic Garden. The subway (Prospect Park Station)is directly across the street. This is a huge space and it baffles me why a devlepor is not salivating to put condos or high rent units here.
