windows are we and vinyl windows

I have 2 questons any one have an experience with WINDOWS ARE WE?  #2 vinyl windows any thoughts we were quoted for a standard window very low e #s plus triple paine (sound ) $565 . Will the windows hold up? Any help appreciated.

I used Windows We Are about 5 years ago for window capping and thought they did a good job.  I also used Bay Ridge Windows for window capping and they did fine, not quite as good but fine, and the workers were really nice (WWA did the back windows, BRW did the front, a few months apart; I hired BRW to do the front initially, and when it came time to hire BRW to do the back, I couldn’t get arrested with them – 1 visit and 7 or more calls went unanswered, they finally returned my calls months later (I guess in the spring), so I swore off using BRW again but would use WWA or at least strongly consider them for future jobs. That said, BRW was noticeably less expensive, although both were priced fine – for window capping anyway.

Make sure to do your research before signing a window contract. Find out if the business is licensed, bonded and insured. Avoid companies who don’t have internal employees and outsource their work to sub-contractors. Make sure the people who will be coming to install your new windows and doors are Ahma certified window and door installers. I just had a vinyl window replaced today by Windows We Are. It was a straight forward process, I went to their shop about 2 weeks ago and told them I wanted a window replaced. A few days later a guy came out to take measurements and give an estimate. Today they replaced the window and even recaped the adjacent window because whoever installed them before did a horrible job. They did mess up on their installation timeframe though. They were supposed to be here @ 10 and didn’t show until about 1 because they went to their afternoon appointment in the morning. My installation was supposed to be the morning appointment. Other than that, they did a really good job, left no mess, and sweeped their work area when they were finished. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs a window installed or replaced.

$565???  Cheap vinyl windows are cheap for a reason – they warp and leak within a short time, depending on the exposure and size.  Also, triple pane alone won’t do a great job to block sound – you need glass of different thicknesses to do that effectively, and/or an airspace between either window and storm or window and interior window.

had terrible experiences with windows we are….. avoid them, there’s much better companies out there with that actually have their s%*t together. The only positive part was the measuring (nice guy)…it went drastically downhill from there…lost paperwork and estimates and another measuring visit, unreturned phone calls always, extremely late delivery (complately screwed up my renovation timing….twice), wrong product ordered that i then had to “live with”, cruddy install, another product ordered incorrectly…delivered late with wrong hardware. i mean it was comical how much these guys screwed up. i had read some good reviews here on bstoner but realize that they were pretty old and this just isnt the same company anymore. I’d try bay ridge windows (neighbor had great windows & service from them)….who i’d use next time for sure.

If you can swing the cost of fiberglass or wood, they will hold up much better than vinyl. My experience with Windows Are We is as follows….After meeting with them twice, they never got back to me with a written quote. I went with S&E Building and recommend them.
