Window Guards for Casement Windows

Has anyone ever installed window guards on casement windows.  I know my building is required to install them, but the ones they use are really ugly and bulky and I’d like to see if anyone has found anything nicer.  I’ve come across one place through a neighbor on 4th Ave that build them for her and someone else in the building.  Would love to hear if anyone has any other suggestions.  Thanks in advance

When you say “nicer” do you mean designed in some way or just less ugly than the standard issue heavy, rusted black ones? I bought a simple light weight but sturdy pair in powder coated white at Lowes and they look much better in our casement windows that the ones there previously. We have had them for a year, very secure.
