Window company recommendations

If you have the original windows, I recommend restoring them and using storm windows for energy efficiency that will greatly exceed that of new double-paned windows. Nothing will fit as well, look as good, or last as long as original windows. Our house came with cheap vinyl replacement windows that probably failed three years after they were installed. Replacement windows are extremely expensive. We got quotes of about $8,000 for 15 aluminum windows installed, and $30,000 for a brick-to-brick installation of 15 wood Marvins. We also got an estimate of about $30,000 for a full facade restoration with wood siding and installation of seven wood windows by a contractor who has done two similar facade restorations.

Hi everybody,  We’re replacing the facade on our brownstone next month and thought we’d use the opportunity to put in some more energy efficient windows. Can anyone recommend some good window companies as well as some contractors to install them (the guy doing our facade just does facades). We only need 11 windows so it’s not a big job. Cracked, who did you hire to do the facade? I remember you asking for recommendations b/c I was doing the same research for our facade.
