Hi – We finally are ready to pull the trigger on the window replacement in our house. I have researched and researched over the years. I have talked to a number of the window replacement companies that are recommended on these forums including LWP and Windows We Are. I think we really want someone who can also handle the painting and woodwork that is going to be associated with the project. Any recommendations for that kind of work? Thanks!

We are looking for the same thing! Our problem is that it is only one window, so the job is too small for most experienced contractors and too potentially difficult for small contractors. Basically we need a GC who does windows as well.

We typically only install windows as part of larger jobs. Due to an increase in positive relationships with window vendors this past year, we have taken on some window install projects. Not a window specialist here. More suited to overall woodworking, light construction and have certainly replaced a window or two over the years, replacement windows into existing trimmed openings or remove and replacement jobs. Specializing. In some situations, a specialist vs a generalist is the way to go, in others, not so much. It sounds like you may have a circumstance where the replacement is straightforward enough, and at the end of the day (job), you want to look at and live with quality woodworking / painting craftsmanship.
