Does anyone have any experience with an inspector named Joseph A Pasaturo P.E.?

We used him 9 years ago, he was also referred by my broker….The house was being sold as is, we agreed to the owner’s  stipulation that any disaster uncovered by the report would not affect the over asking price we had negotiated. Joe P was so thorough and vocal about the problems that the owner caved and we were able to get a 250K reduction in the price:)

Well, he’s been around for a while – he did the inspection when I bought my house over 10 years ago. In this case he was referred by the broker (not a great idea, since there’s a potential conflict of interest).  I thought he did a good job and gave a very thorough report.

he inspected my house in fort greene also about 10 years ago. my lawyer referred him. a few years later i saw him on some morning show segment about how house inspectors can rip you off. he was the house inspector who inspected all the other people’s work. not the most outgoing guy, but very thorough

We recently used Joe P, for a limestone in Prospect Lefferts no less. Our broker and our lawyer (who don’t know each other) both recommended him. He was great: very thorough and willing to explain in simple language what he was finding as he went along. He carries a portable printer and hands over the inspection report at the end. He’ll answer follow-up questions by phone or email. There was an amusing moment when he kind of got up in the grill of a contractor we had brought along for the ride. (They started to argue over whether design-build is legal in NYC…) For us — first time buyers who’ve never been through a major renovation — the inspection was very educational, taught us a lot about the many things that can go wrong in an older building.
