do I need a contractor for a closet renovation?

I’d like to find someone to join two closets (they share a non-load bearing wall), replace the two doors with one, and build a built-in cabinet above the current closet (I have 10′ ceilings and a lot of wasted space). Anyone have this work done without a contractor?
