Your float is flexible enough to grout properly. Maybe wait a while and when the grout stiffens, form the joints a second time.

Don’t mean to hijack your forum post but since there are experts online I will ask a related question So, how do you grout those subway tiles that have a significantly raised bevel? I have grouted before but what is the right way to remove the excess grout if the float can’t reach the lower surface?

I also have significant doubts regarding replacing grout. We use primarily epoxy grout, done correctly the first time. Generally whatever is causing the present failure has more to do with the whole job. Sort of like blaming the cracks on the paint.

As an expert, who just happens to be working on another tile job in Windsor Terrace, I offer you a free consultation. I would listen to you and explain what I can about your grout condition. I will recommend a solution to the problem you present. I can not promise here the solution you are seeking is the one I will recommend. You can find me in the directory under shower stalls. – Green Mountain
