Sidewalk replacement-Average cost/referral?
I’m jumping into the deep end of the homeownership pool in Bed-Stuy. An early project will be to replace the cracked, uneven, 18 X 15′ sidewalk before the City gives me trouble. Any advice about average cost? I’m looking to spend as little as possible; I don’t need an artisanal bespoke sidewalk!

doesn’t cost to get couple of estimates. guy who did mine and has done lot of masonry for me is shahab at cell# 646-523-7155\. Has been quite a few years so don’t remember price. My sidewalk still looks great whereas neighbor who had done already looks worn. I think is best to have the cement tinted a gray color to look more like slate. Lighter color cement ends up looking dirtier.

I think what happens if the city does give you trouble is that they’ll send a notice of violation & you’ll be able to get your own contractor to do the work within some timeframe, or they’ll get it done and bill you something like $9 per square foot. You can probably get someone to do if for a a coulpe of dollars less per sq ft. 15′ wide sidewalk? That sounds unusually wide.
