Structural Engineer to Document Shoddy Roof Installation

We had a new flat roof put on the GC did a terrible job. After multiple patch jobs, it still leaks, has no flashing and the various roof penetrations are not sealed. I suspect it has to be totally re-done but before pulling the roof, I would like to document how bad a job it was in case we end up in a legal battle. Does anyone have recommendations for an engineer who can document the poor work? Thanks.

i can’t think of any engineer who would want to get involved in this and risk being a party to the lawsuit. i think your best course of action is to send the GC a few certified and proof of mail letters asking to fix the problem or your will pursue legal action. if no response, hire a good roofer to come out and diagnose the problem and fix it, then take the GC to court.
