I’ve found that there’s a dearth of helpful, knowledgeable, well-stocked hardware stores in Fort Greene. The guys on Fulton are from Staten Island and know much less about hardware and construction than I do; plus they don’t keep things like enough or the right lightbulbs in stock. (Although they are very nice!) I’ve walked to Two Sisters in Clinton Hill, and while they’re extra helpful about stuff, they’re pretty small and really out of the way. So, if anyone is looking to start up a business, please come to FG! And bring a good selection of light bulbs, obscure cleaning products, papertowels in addition to the hardware store basics. Remember- there’s no major drugstore to compete with between the Fulton Mall and Clinton Hill and we really need someone who knows their stuff. I find I have to go to places in Manhattan to get what I need, which is a real shame. I want a great place in my own hood!
