Buying with tenant in place - introductory politics
Hi, I’m in contract for a multi-fam where there is a tenant in place with a lease for a few more months. Closing is in some unspecified time in some several week period that I don’t know yet. Would you recommend reaching out to tenant to have a chat / coffee / beer as an introductory thing? It seems like it would be less jolting for tenant than suddenly having a new landlord they haven’t met. It’s important to note that I’ll be occupying the house, so this tenant will also be a neighbor! And probably also suffering from some renovation in the other units. What would you do? Thanks
